We are excited to share out the summer pilot program for SPARC Place Residency at Oakview Studios! The purpose of the SPARC Place residency program is to provide Alachua county artists with focused time and space to develop artwork, and to test out a format to build on for a potential future residency program.

Join us during Gainesville Artwalk to meet the artists, see what they have been working on during the residency, and enjoy kid’s art activities.

A collection of three short films from the African Diaspora: “Pumzi”, “Afronauts”, and “Daughter of the Sea” that delve into Afrofuturism, migration and the fantastical, with community conversations led by a panel of UF faculty, Dr. Ariadna Tenorio, Dr. Abdoulaye Kane and filmmakers, Alexis Garcia and Nuotama Bodomo, moderated by Antoine Williams.
